Hopefully we're heading into fall, and cooler weather accompanied often by more energy. A couple of ideas about your office, either at home or the company where you work....Do you dread facing your desk each day? How about this: Leave it neat at the end of the day, make a list or check your calendar to be prepared for the next day, consider the image you want your office to reflect about you and your work, create action files (either clearly named or color coded) for your "hot" or current projects and keep them out of your file drawer. There are racks that hold several files and the rack with your files can be put on your desk. So have a happy September and think about whether your office is distracting or comfortable.

Cool weather
Hello again,
As we have more cool weather, besides thinking of football, it's time to think about organizing the garage. It will only take a day or less if everyone pitches in. Make zones for each use of your garage: gardening, car maintenance, sports equipment, bicycles (hang them), cleaning supplies and anything else you put in there that is keeping the cars in the driveway.
Enjoy the beautiful weather and remember classes in organizing are available through Continuing Education at TU starting soon.

Organizing offices
Hello again,
Here are a few more ways to help organize your office:
Decide immediately whether you should FILE, TOSS, OR ACT ON your mail.
Always set up a file index and keep it in the front of the file drawer. If you lock the cabinets, keep a copy where your colleagues can find it.
Make use of action files to keep your projects moving steadily toward completion. Used colored dots or colored file folders for "hot" projects!!!
Hope these help you.
